A few things to keep in mind.....
The sling will act as a "seat" so ensure that baby's bottom is lower than his/her knees and that there is enough material to support baby's head and neck (for those with little head control as yet).
Once in position, the rings should sit just in front of your shoulder - the corsage position. It may take a little practise to get it right - but you soon get it right with your eyes closed!
Practise using your sling at home, over the bed if needed, so you are totally comfortable with getting baby in and out of it. |

These instructions will guide you through the basic steps involved in the 5 basic positions for your sling |
|
TERMS USED
TAIL - the length of material that will hang down from the rings
FRONT RAIL - the top edge of sling - the left hand seam through the rings - use to tighten outside edge of sling
BACK RAIL - 'inside' top edge of sling (against your chest) - the right hand seam through the rings, used to tighten the inside of sling |

|
Once you have threaded your sling, it can stay threaded - even in the wash! Check that it hasn't twisted in the rings before you use it though. |
